Scrapbook - The Seventies

Compassion
My second group, but the first where I played guitar.  We called ourselves "Compassion," inspired by The Balance, a poem and song on the Moody Blues album, Question of Balance.  I'm pictured with my first guitar in 1970.
Opportunity Knocks
With Malcolm and Janis again, this time as we set out for an unsuccessful Opportunity Knocks audition in 1970.
Ricardo
Playing the part of "Ricardo" in Castles in Spain with the YWCA Light Opera Group, Kirkcaldy, 1971.
Lowlanders
The Lowlanders. The first group I was in that got a radio play. We entered a BBC schools competition and our tape was played! Pictured enjoying ice cream after gig in West Wemyss, Fife, probably in 1972 (hence the hair-style!).
Choir
It wasn't always "cool" to be part of a school choir, but I was so fanatical about music of all kinds, I wasn't concerned about being cool! I'm 2nd from the right in the back row of this photo, which I think was taken in 1973 or 1974 at Kirkcaldy High School.
